The Mechanic

Comic Bio (US):

The Mechanic first encountered the Transformers when he and his assistant Juan were buying stolen cars from an unkown dealer. Little did they know they were unwitting dupes in a sting operation set up by the Portland Police. In a frantic attempt to escape, they entered Ratchet. Not wanting to be caught himself, Ratchet aided their escape, hoping the Mechanic's phobia of the police would keep him from noticing anything strange. During the chase, Ratchet used his laser scalpel and liquid nitrogen sprayer to stop the police, but the Mechanic did notice and removed the devices from Ratchet. Once they arrived at the Mechanic's garage Ratchet revealed himself to be a Transformer and asked for his surgical tools back. The Mechanic froze him with the liquid nitrogen sprayer. Once Ratchet thawed out, the humans were gone, so he returned to the Ark. The Mechanic and Juan followed him, hoping to obtain more weapons. At the Ark, Ratchet deactivated the defences and entered. The Mechanic made it inside before the security system was reactivated. There, he was spotted so he attacked Ratchet, shooting open his knee caps with the laser scapel. Just then the other Autobots returned from the funeral of Optimus Prime. Quickly, the Mechanic removed the power amplifier that allowed remote operation of the Ark's defenses so no one could get in. Ratchet took the opportinunity to escape to his lab, where he partially repaired Prowl. When the Mechanic arrived, Prowl entered the room in police car mode and scared the Mechanic away.

Soon after, he went to military bases and tech centers, stealing valuable devices with his weapons. This got the attention of Grimlock, the new Autobot Leader, who sent Goldbug and Blaster after him. Goldbug and Blaster proved unable to fight the Mechanic alone, and had to team up with the Portland police. They took out the Mechanic's operation, but the Mechanic still escaped. Not wanting to have to suffer the penalty for failing Grimlock, Goldbug and Blaster decided to leave the Autobots.

The current whereabouts of the Mechanic is unknown.
