Witwicky, Buster

Comic Bio (US):

Buster was the younger son of "Sparkplug" Witwicky, a car mechanic in Portland, Oregon. He first came in contact with the Transformers when the Decepticons, pursuing several Autobots, attacked the drive- in he was attending. Bumblebee, who had unintentionally dented Buster's car in an attempt to greet it, was damaged by an explosion and Buster heard him cry out in pain. As a result, he steered Bumblebee home, hoping to use his dad's equipment to fix him. Eventually, he had to ask his father to perform the repairs instead. Bumblebeen then transformed and thanked the two, thus beginning the Autobots' association with the Witwickys.

When Sparkplug was forced by the Decepticons to convert Earth fuel for them, several Autobots became enraged and inadvertantly caused a heart attack. Buster followed his father and Ratchet to the hospital, where Sparkplug made him promise never to associate with the Autobots again. Although he agreed, he realized that Ratchet needed help to return to the Ark, and so goes with him. Back at the Ark, they discovered that the Decepticons had taken over, and Optimus Prime was held captive, decapitated. Desperate to hide the Creation Matrix from Shockwave, Optimus passed the program to Buster without sufficient warning. Buster, confused from the shock tht resulted, stumbled away. Later, he met up with some friends of his, including his soon-to-be-girlfriend Jesse, and returned home.

The flashes of pain in his head eventually subsided and manifested themselves into the ability to psyonically manipulate unliving machines. After Shockwave unsuccessfully tried to capture him with the mindless Jetfire, Buster reassembled Jetfire without his Decepticon programming and ordered him to bring him back. Unfortunately for him, Jetfire was forced to outmaneuver US Air Force jets along the way, resulting in him blacking out and losing control over Jetfire. Shortly before Shockwave could core his brain for the purpose of extracting the Matrix, Buster awoke and was able to order Jetfire to knock Shockwave unconscious and rescue Prime. He was then released and taken home.

Some time later, Buster became involved in operating a car wash that was actually under Decepticon control. Despite Ratbat's personal intervention, Buster was able to thwart the operation.

Possibly holding a grudge, Ratbat later destroyed the Witwicky home while trying to locate Buster, almost killing Sparkplug in the process. Buster was caught while trying to help several Autobots, whose minds had been transferred into the bodies of toy cars. Placed in plain view on the shore of the Decepticon island base, Buster was used by Shockwave as a hostage to hold off large-scale artillery bombardments from the humans. Fortress Maximus, binary-bonded to Spike, launched an unsuccessful rescue attempt that resulted in Shockwave's apparent demise. Buster was later released by Starscream to delay Autobot and Decepticon efforts to stop him from seeking the Underbase. Since then, he has had no direct contact with the Transformers.
